Rochester NY Ulster county is a small town in New York State. The town of Rochester NY Ulster County was named in honor of the Earl of Rochester. Rochester was given the status of a town in Ulster County New York State 1877. The town grew around a small settlement of settlers from Holland. The Dutch named the town Mombaccus and this name was later changed to Rochester.
The Dutch settlement dates back to1700. The first Church in Rochester NY Ulster county was built by these Dutch settlers. Friends of Historic Rochester is a not for profit society which has the town folk of Rochester as its members who pay a subscription and help preserve the history of the town. Rochester New York also has a museum and a library where details of the town’s history is available. Rochester NY Ulster county is a small town with a significant place in early American history.
There are always celebrations and concerts that are for free. The Garth Fagan Dance Troupe which performs around the city for various occasions calls the city its home.
